But the news isn't all good
April saw another increase in spending in the industry based on information gathered from credit card transactions. That certainly is a good thing. Keep in mind though that there are a few other pieces of information for you to think about.
First, April was not as good as March. Yes, the rate of growth was not as good.
Second, the average guest check amount was down 4.3%. There's something going on there -- where you as a manager or owner need to look at ways to move the guest check average up. Add products, change the mix or just re-train or reinforce information with your wait staff.
